Upcoming Fun - KAAE Night at Louisville’s Comedy Caravan
Join KAAE at Louisville ’s Comedy Caravan on Thursday, October 23. A portion of ticket sales benefits the Kentucky Alliance for Arts Education. Annual KAAE Programming

The Annual KTA/KAAE Professional Development Day will be held on the campus of the University of Kentucky 0n November 8, 2008. Registration forms for 2009 available by the end of August!

2009 smART! Conference - The 2008 Conference was a great success. Mark your calendars for June 11 - 13, 2009!
Join teachers from across the Commonwealth in Louisville for three days of intensive hands-on experiences to integrate into their school classrooms. All sessions support the Program of Studies and Core Content, and presenters integrate Depth of Knowledge into the sessions. Up to twenty hours of professional development credit available.

The 2008 pre-conference was supported by funding from the Kentucky Arts Council through its Lincoln Bicentennial Project Grant program.

NSBA Award
NEW INFO: The 2009 Kennedy Center and National School Boards Award information is now available. Be sure to read the guidelines thoroughly before submitting the nomination form to KAAE.

Please note that in order for KAAE to meet the national deadline of December 1, 2008, all submissions MUST arrive at the office of the Kentucky Alliance for Arts Education no later than Friday, November 21st.

NSO Summer Music Institute
The deadline for the 2008 NSO Summer Music Institute has passed. Information about the 2009 Institute will be posted this fall.

The Kennedy Center/National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute is a 4-week summer music program at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, for student instrumentalists. The program is designed for serious music students. Each student accepted into the Program attends on full scholarship, which includes the following benefits: round-trip air transportation to and from Washington, DC, housing, food allowance, and local transportation during their stay in our Nation's Capital.

National Schools of Distinction in Arts Education Award
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Schools of Distinction in Arts Education awards program provides an important outlet for expanding recognition of the role individual schools play in providing a creative learning environment for outstanding student achievement. Through the nomination of schools for this prestigious award, exemplary arts education programs in district, elementary, middle and high schools will be identified. Learn More.
